How was SuperTech® evaluated by RETIMAQ (Brazil)?

RETIMAQ – Retífica de Máquinas Ltda. (Brazil), a certified engine testing and remanufacturing facility and regional distributor for Volkswagen commercial vehicles, conducted a controlled laboratory dynamometer evaluation of the SUPERTECH® Combustion Optimizer.

The test was carried out on a Mercedes-Benz OM 447 TA diesel engine removed from a long-service commercial truck and fully overhauled prior to testing, ensuring performance comparable to a new engine of the same model.

Evaluation Scope & Method

The evaluation was conducted under repeatable, laboratory-controlled conditions and included:

  • Dynamometer bench testing using a SCHENCK U1-25 engine dynamometer

  • Fuel consumption measured gravimetrically using a digital fuel-mass scale

  • Exhaust smoke opacity measured using a Bosch smoke opacity analyzer

  • Identical test sequences performed before and after installation of SuperTech®

  • Multiple engine speeds (1200–2100 RPM) and load conditions (up to 750 N)

  • A stabilization period allowing SuperTech® to act on the full fuel volume prior to testing

No engine tuning, mechanical changes, or system modifications were made during the evaluation.

What were the observed results?

According to the consolidated test data and final conclusions:

  • Fuel-consumption reductions exceeding 11% were recorded under normal operating loads (600–750 N @ 1,800 RPM)

  • Minimum fuel savings of approximately 4% were observed even at low engine loads

  • Fuel-saving performance increased with higher engine load and RPM, aligning with real-world duty cycles

  • Clear and repeatable reductions in exhaust smoke opacity were measured across tested RPM ranges

  • When SuperTech® was removed, smoke opacity levels returned rapidly toward baseline values

The results demonstrated a direct relationship between combustion load and the effectiveness of upstream fuel optimization.
