How did IBAMA assess SuperTech®?
The Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (IBAMA) reviewed SuperTech® in the context of Brazil’s national vehicle emissions control frameworks, including PROCONVE (Programa de Controle da Poluição do Ar por Veículos Automotores) and PROMOT (Programa de Controle da Poluição do Ar por Motociclos e Veículos Similares).
The assessment was conducted in response to an inquiry regarding whether the installation of SuperTech® would constitute a modification to regulated vehicle systems or require homologation under Brazilian environmental regulations.
Scope of the regulatory review
According to the formal statement issued by IBAMA:
SuperTech® is installed inside the fuel tank
It does not modify engine configuration
It does not interfere with electronic control units (ECU) or emissions-control systems
It does not alter vehicle homologation parameters when installed as described
Based on this scope, IBAMA stated that the device does not fall under mandatory certification or approval procedures, provided its application remains unchanged.
What is the regulatory takeaway?
The IBAMA statement confirms that SuperTech®, as described and installed, is considered non-invasive with respect to regulated vehicle emissions systems under Brazilian environmental law.
This document constitutes a regulatory non-objection statement and does not represent certification, approval, or endorsement of emissions or fuel-economy performance. Vehicle compliance remains subject to applicable regulations, maintenance practices, and operating conditions.
